Refund Policy: We are unable to refund tuition fees once the semester has begun. No refunds will be offered once classes or camp has begun, or for individual days not attended. An administrative fee of $25 will be deducted upon cancellations occurring prior to the start of the semester. Semester service fees, which includes your materials, cannot be refunded.
Class Cancellations: Sometimes classes don’t fill to minimum capacity. If this occurs, we will attempt to transfer you to another open class. UpBeat Louisville reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment. In such a case, and an open class does not work for your schedule, a refund for any unused classes will be given.
Food/Toys: Please eat/snack before you arrive. No food or drink in our classroom area, with the exception of water. We are nursing or bottle feeding friendly. Please leave toys/stuffed animals at home or in the car, so they do not become a distraction during class for your child or any child in the class, and we can keep the focus on making music.
Taking Pictures/Phones: Please no phones out during class. We want to model being present during class so the children see us staying connected to our music-making. We have also had families in class who are fostering children and it is not allowed for their pictures to be taken. If you want to get a picture of your child with instruments or the drum, please ask your teacher and we will be happy to STAGE it for you. We can also offer a photo shoot day towards the end of the semester where we can snap our hearts out, if everybody is willing.
Extreme Weather or Unexpected Interruption of Classes: If UpBeat Louisville must cancel classes due to extreme weather or events beyond our control, any missed classes will be added on to the end of the semester if/when possible. No refunds due to these reasons will be given.
Teacher Sickness: In case of teacher illness, we will add a class to the end of the semester or an alternate day, if time allows. We cannot extend refunds or credits for these missed classes.
Illness/Missed Classes: Please do not attend class if you or your child are ill. If you miss a class due to illness or other reasons, please see about our Make-up Class options below.
Make-up** Classes: Families are responsible for class attendance. However, we understand that situations arise that may cause you to miss class occasionally. Families are allowed 3 makeups per semester using the online Makeup Scheduler. Please do your best to schedule a Makeup at least 24 hours ahead to notify teachers of your intent to attend. **Makeups MUST be used during the current semester; they do not rollover and do not carry any monetary value. If you have an emergency or extenuating circumstance that prevents you from coming to class for an extended period, please email the Director: [email protected] as soon as possible within your enrolled semester to discuss.
Media Release: UpBeat Louisville is hereby granted permission to take photographs and audio-visual recordings of the students in classes and other related events to use in brochures, websites, social media, advertisements and other promotional materials that UpBeat Louisville creates. We do understand there are some cases that prevent children/families from being photographed. If this is the case for your family, please inform the Director and we will work to find an alternative solution for your family and class. Permission is also hereby granted for UpBeat Louisville to copyright such photographs in its name. Families may opt out at any time by emailing the Director: [email protected].
Waiver of Liability: Upon registering for class, all Adults, Parents and Legal Guardians of minor students hereby waive the right to any legal action for any injury/illness sustained at UpBeat Louisville venues resulting from normal class activity or any other activity conducted by families before, during, or after class time or special events. On behalf of myself and my children, I hereby voluntarily release, forever discharge, and covenant not to sue UpBeat Louisville and its owners, managers, contractors, members, teachers, employees, agents, and volunteers, or the location owner (“Released Parties”) for any claims that may arise out of, or relate in any way to, my or my child’s exposure to any communicable diseases, including but not limited to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) or any other accident that may cause harm or injury. Claims hereby released include, but not limited to, claims of negligence against any of the Released Parties.
I have carefully read this waiver and fully understand its contents. By enrolling in classes at UpBeat Louisville, I understand I have given up certain legal rights and that this is a binding legal document.
Please ensure that any adult who brings your child to class has read and understood the policies, procedures, and waiver prior to attending class.
UpBeat Louisville's Policies, Procedures and Waiver of Liability are effective as of August 1, 2023. Last updated January 2024.
